Benefits of Tae Kwon-Do

|
Since the beginning of time, Man
has been blessed with the natural instinct to survive threats and dangerous
situations using whatever weapons that are available. Under distress, man
could possibly wield a weapon to defend himself, but weapons are not
always readily available. Therefore, man needs to learn how to use his own
body to defend and protect himself and his loved ones. Thus begins the
chapter of the of the evolution of Tae Kwon-Do.
Tae Kwon-Do is the most popular
among the 'Arts' due to its practicality and its beautiful kicks.
Truth be told, if you were to ask any Martial Artist their honest opinion, they
would say, "striking is superior to grappling and kicking is superior to
punching". Don't get confused though. Learning technique combined
with philosophy is merely a 'WAY' (Do) to tap into the intangible
powers of that make a human being 'successful' or to learn how to
'win in life'. This is where most people get lost.
Technique (hands and feet used as weapons or objects used as an extension
of the hands and feet) is merely a vessel. It is not
the sole purpose of learning the 'Arts'.

Grandmaster D. W. Kang, a 9th Dan
Black Belt, is the primary authority in the local Martial Arts community.
He is without question the deepest well of wisdom and knowledge that can be
sought out in this area. Grandmaster Kang's achievements and credentials
are recognized not only by the WTF (World Tae Kwon-Do Federation) in Korea, but
the ITF (International Tae Kwon-Do Federation) the Kukkiwon (Headquarters for
Tae Kwon-Do in Korea and the World) and 'Lifetime Achievement Award' for the
TaeKwon-Do Hall of Fame.

It's true that we are a
tradition-based dojang with old-school methods. It's also true that our
dojang has produced many of the instructors teaching here in the local area.
It's very rare to find a dojang with the kind high quality of black belts at the
helm like you'll find in our dojang. We are not a 'fight gym'. We
are not in the business of producing 'street fighters', 'cage fighters' or fighting based
students. This is the most common misconception the world has about the
Martial Arts. The martial arts is not just about techniques and fighting!
It is about something much more important. Many shallow people fail to
realize this and get caught up in the 'who's better than who' aspect instead of
focusing on winning internally.

Here at Kang's Tae Kwon-Do, it is
our intention to cultivate and nurture human beings into becoming what
Grandmaster Kang calls 'Supreme Human Beings'. This is the kind of person
that is able to relate to integrity and nobility. What does it
really take to walk on this earth with your head held up? How
does one seek truth and help others find it once discovered? These are the
questions of a person who seeks the 'true path'. This is ultimately what
all parents want for their children. If you had kids, would you want them
to learn how to be a mere 'fighter' with barbaric behavior, or would you want them
to truly know how to handle themselves in any situation?
The goal of every student
and instructor in our organization is to help change the world, no
matter how overwhelming the adversary. This, is what we call the truth of life. Only a
dojang created by an 'ORIGINAL, KOREAN GRAND MASTER' holds the true
secret and the essence of true martial arts.
No one in this area can say
they've produced thousands of black belts like Grandmaster Kang has. What
is your destiny?
How would you want to wear your black belt? Do you
want to wear a black belt you bought? or a black belt you earned? |

Martial Arts Offers Many Benefits - Martial Arts: The
way to a better you ..................
A better working body -
a sharper, more focused mind - a stronger sense of confidence - who
wouldn't want these things for themselves?
Martial arts are not
just about fighting, or self defense. Personal improvement is one of the
significant benefits martial arts can provide to both children and
adults.
Almost half of the 6
million participants are children ages 6-17, according to statistics
from the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association.* It's not unusual for
the whole family to get involved; one-third of the students are women,
many of them moms.
No matter what
discipline of martial arts you choose, whether it is Tae Kwon-Do, karate,
jujitsu, aikido or another one of the many forms of martial arts, the
styles may differ but the benefits remain the same. Nationality is
the main difference between the martial arts, but it is your gut
instinct that will tell you what place is right for you. Listen to
your heart.
For a list of specific
benefits for various age groups, visit the adult and children's pages on
